Wonderful week on Platte Lake
Rebecca A.The house is comfortable, quiet and great for a large family or group. The views are beautiful. The two upstairs bedrooms with the balcony facing the lake were my favorite part. Waking in the morning and looking out at the trees and lake was very pleasant. Watched an eagle catch a fish just in front of the dock. Heard loons calling in the morning. We even had a baby fox make a short visit. And the stars at night were amazing.
Great Family Vacation!
Terri H.We had a wonderful week at Platte Lake Hi-Day-Way. We had plenty of room for the whole family in the house and it had everything we needed. The yard was perfect for playing games and the lake was perfect for our kayaks, canoe, and paddle board. The knee-deep water provided a ton of fun for the kids! The location of the house is wonderful to explore the area; Sleeping Bear Dunes, Traverse City, Lake Michigan, etc. We enjoyed this beautiful retreat and we hope to visit again soon.

Beautiful, spacious home! Great choice!
Lori F.You'll love this home on Big Platte Lake. It's very spacious with an open floor plan, beautiful views, large deck, and has a dock that ends in stairs into the water. There is also a fire pit with seating right next to the water, and 2 charcoal grills The Trading Post is a convenient :05 walk. The home was well stocked and the laundry room was greatly appreciated. Bring your own towels, kitchen towels and linens. I would definitely recommend this home!
Spacious Comfortable Home in a Great Location
Dayna M.This home is just as described and is well-represented in the photos. This is the third home we have rented on Big Platte Lake and find it perfect--you can go to several different beaches, kayak Platte Lake out to Platte Point beach, go to the Cherry Bowl drive in, pick blueberries, and have some great family time. One night when we were having a fire, 2 foxes walked right by us. We could have reached out and touched them (we didn't, of course, but they were interested in our smores!). You will need to bring your own bed linens and towels, and also your own pillows if you are picky about that. The neighbors were quite nice; one neighbor is apparently the head of the homeowner's association, and my nephew called him the Mayor of the Lake :). He took some photos of our family for us right before we left. The kitchen was pretty well stocked with equipment and dishes; we brought our own non-stick pan which was helpful. The water was very shallow a long way out. Not great for swimming (would be great if you had toddlers), but we rented a kayak for the week and our younger kids had fun just paddling around safely in the shallow water. I would recommend this property!
Great Week at Big Platte Lake Hi-Da-Way
We had a wonderful family vacation at this cottage! There was so much to do in the area that our week flew by all too fast. The cottage is beautiful, spacious and accommodated our family which ranged in ages from 10 to 70 years old very well. The Trading Post was awesome and made our stay so much fun, too.
Awesome Platte Lake Vacation
Nancy R.Beautiful and very clean home! We loved our vacation on Big Platte Lake. Home had everything we needed and more. Make sure you check out the nice sandy swimming sand bar area at North end of lake - you can anchor your boat there and swim. If you rent a boat you will need to anchor it farther out than the dock and make sure you have a heavy duty anchor as the wind is sometimes strong. Bring your water shoes or pick some up at Trading Post or Riverside. Trading Post has awesome ice cream and pizza. Cherry Hut has delicious food and loved their Cherry Ade (like lemonaide, but better). Cherry Bowl Drive-In was soooo much fun - afordable and great quality movie! Hungry Tummy in Beulah has a great fisherman's platter on Fri. night. Tubing/Kayak/Canoeing down Platte River (use Riverside or Trading Post) is a MUST! If you want to watch the sunset on Lake Michigan (get there a little early 9pm as the parking area is small) - go down Deadstream to Peterson Rd - drive approx. 10 min - bring a blanket and relax and watch the sunset - AMAZING!! Sleeping Bear Dunes Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive is also a must. We really loved this home - the deck with plenty of seating, the firepit, the large kitchen, the large bedrooms and comfortable beds, the clean and modern bathrooms - We loved it all!
Family Vacation
PattieWe had a fabulous week at the Platte Lake house, great location, great house - the pictures truly do not do it justice. There were 10 adults, 2 teens and a 2 year old and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themseslves. We swam & fished & played lawn games & hiked & kayaked and visited nearby cities. There is so much to do, and when not running around, the decks are perfect, 2 picnic tables & lots of room for all of us. It was great having the Trading Post store so close. The house is well built and well maintained - plenty of space and a great kitchen, I would absolutely recommend it - a great place to spend a vacation!
